The tine has finally come when the Dahlias come into bloom. I have tried new varieties, but none grew with the desired long stems

Ever since Pippi Langstrumpf/ Longstocking I love the idea of a veranda. The veranda lifestyle (eating/ reading/ chatting etc. on the veranda) became a reality for 24 hrs in the midst of Devon. We loved every moment of it 💚

I love the common names for the digitalis, both in English and in German.

This digitalis is growing in a semi shady spot at the bottom of the allotment, encircled by forget-me-nots (another great flower name!)
